OccupyPHA Calls for an End to PHA Police Terror and Extra-Judicial Evictions and Ejectments, Rallies at CEO Kelvin Jeremiah’s Private Residence.
August 5th, 2020, PHILADELPHIA, PA
On August 4th, 2020, despite a written commitment by the housing authority to halt its routine practice of evicting or ejecting tenants and squatters by using its private police force, PHA police arrived at a home in north philadelphia at 10pm and gave a family 15 minutes to get out of an occupied PHA property. OccupyPHA will be doing an action at the President and CEO of the Philadelphia Housing Authority’s private residence today at 5pm to demand an end to the routine practice of extra-judicial eviction and ejectment by the Philadelphia Housing Authority Police Department and to call for the disbandment of its private police force.
